Winding Down

Today (this is now yesterday) was fairly active for me, though Avery and I didn't do much other than clean, sort, and run errands.  However, Avery had a dandy time all day with these activities if her tantrum-free state is any indicator.

So as I sit here now, it feels like my day is winding down nicely.  I really have a lot of sorting to do, but right now, I feel like catching up on Lexulous.  So catch up I shall.

OK, that's done.  Now onto to at least a bit of sorting/organizing. 

Twitter

I'm still not entirely addicted to Twitter.  I know I will be because I'm psychic like that. However, when I do remember to check my Twitter page, I almost always laugh at tweets by Michael Ian Black (he played Phil on the TV show Ed.)  Anyway, today he tweets this: To psych myself up before doing laundry last night, I said, "Let's rock-n-roll!" followed by a single hand clap. Best laundry ever.  That is some funny stuff.  I literally LOL'd.  I find most of his tweets hilarious.  BTW, I am typing this literally seconds after I got up to start organizing, but then thought, "Hey, I should check Twitter!"

Thursday, aka Today

And now it's Thursday.  I forgot to finish the post last night.  No surprise there.  I'm still working to get things back in order after our return from vacation.  I'm very close.

This afternoon I'm heading out to Forest Grove to check out a table and chair set for Avery I found on Craig's List. I really wanted to buy this awesome set from Etsy, but $30 vs. $185 pretty much made the decision for me.  It looks like I have good taste since I see the set on Etsy has been sold. 

Mexico

I have decided to start gathering all the items we want to take down to Mexico on our next trip.  No point until waiting until the last minute when we then end up paying more because we don't have time to think through a purchase.  So far I've bought/repurposed the following items: laundry rack, cutting board, wooden bowl for change, DVD of Freaks & Geeks, and Swiffer covers.  I have a huge list, most of which are small and inexpensive, but that we've been unable to find in Loreto.  When I was in Bed, Bath and Beyond yesterday, I found myself just strolling around the store marveling at all the stuff.  This is so not me.  Apparently just the short time trying to locate items in Mexico made me appreciate how accessible conveniences (and clutter) are in the US.

And, a quick update on our house situation down there.  It looks like security, landscaping, and community pool upkeep will continue, as will regular checks on our casas and the plants inside.  These are really the most important things in terms of having an enjoyable vacation down there.  Not having the Inn open does suck because it is just mentally comforting to have a place like that nearby.  It also genuinely pains me to think of what the employees are going to do for work.  There's not a lot down there.  And the company gave them zero notice.  They just pulled the rug out from beneath them after years of service.  That makes me angry.  I wasn't too annoyed that they sent the email to homeowners with no notice, but that they didn't tell the employees first is enraging and disrespectful.  Grrrrr.
