Bullets

I seem to have a harder time blogging with Mom here. Maybe I've been subconsciously blogging to keep her informed of my life and now that she's here, I struggle with it more? When out of ideas, there are always bullet points with random stuff.

  • Mom took Barkley to the groomer this morning. He looks good, but it cost double (!) they amount they quoted on the phone, so we're still in search of a good groomer if anyone knows of one.
  • The knobs have been installed on the living room cabinetry.  It's basically done, though we still have to one door put back on after a hinge mishap. Now I need to focus on getting the visible shelves filled with "decor." That'll take me about 3 years to do, I'm sure.
  • Barkley is making small progress with walking on the wood floors. Very small, but progress nonetheless.
  • Remember when I said I was going to have a controlled fall about 1.5 months ago? Just to be completely open: there was nothing controlled about it. I've been awful about logging food, about what I'm eating, and about keeping up with walking. Not exactly shocking, I know.
  • Mom and I spent a lot of the day getting her gadgets and technical needs figured out. We got her new GPS working, saved addresses in the GPS, mapped out dog parks close(ish) to us for her to try out with Barkley, got her account set up so she can view my calendar, and got her DVR set up properly so she can watch the tube of boobs in her quarters.
  • We're all (D, me, Avery, and Mom) to the Timbers game on Saturday night.  That's right, I'm giving it another whirl. I'm not overly optimistic that I'll enjoy the game, but perhaps I'll enjoy watching the people watching the game.
  • There's a new competition-based reality show about tattooing called Best Ink. While I would never get a tattoo, I have reached a point where I can appreciate the artform of tattooing as craft or an art.

  2. We're going to the game, too! We're leaving the little one behind with grandpa. I find myself singing the chants at random times throughout the day now. I am beginning to feel like a bona fide member of the Army. Got myself a scarf and everything. Here's hoping you all enjoy the match!
