Maps

Avery has two maps in her room, one of the world and one of the US.  Since I put them up a couple of months ago, I can say where do kangaroos live and she'll go point to Australia.  Maybe a total of four times I've shown her the seven continents on the world map.  The last time I did this was maybe two weeks ago, if not longer. Tonight as we were getting her ready for bed, she pointed at South America and said, "That's South America." 

What children retain of what we say still blows me away.  And I rather needed to be blown away tonight as the whining was on full tilt today and I was so.very.ready for bedtime.
